BartSimpson BartSimpson: shockedcanadian shockedcanadian: ...wtf is going on in this country? Multiculturalism, diversity, and tolerance. Better known as pathological altruism. Im not sure if you are being serious or not. I do know this though, he had dealings with the police, like the nutjob from Quebec who ran the two soldiers on Monday he had his passport confiscated due to being a high risk. Another person with serious dealings with our security apparatus and another innocent Canadian soldier killed on our soil.

ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: Funny, the picture shown of him doesn't match the description of a short chunky dude with long black hair, given by eye witnesses. ![huh? [huh]](./images/smilies/icon_scratch.gif) I get the feeling there are 2 shooters, and one got away. It's why everything is still locked down.

It's why everything is still locked down. $1: Later in a news conference, police and military officials confirmed the incident is not over, saying people in the downtown core should remain vigilant and stay inside. Police would not say whether they still suspect another shooter is involved. Parliament Hill remains under lockdown late Wednesday afternoon.
"This is a dynamic and unfolding situation," said RCMP Assistant Commissioner Gilles Michaud, commanding officer of the national division. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/ottawa- ... -1.2808710Odds are, there is.

N_Fiddledog N_Fiddledog: See the difference? Feel safer? There is none. False equivalence. The 'Purge' doesn't discount that they wouldn't or won't experience the same, nor if we had 'purged' does it mean that we wouldn't have. And I've never felt safer. I have a better chance of being killed by the flu, ecoli and Enterovirus than I ever did of being killed in a terror attack. The odds of that are so close to zero, they might as well be zero. And I've had my flu shot. See how that works?

You can't live in fear, you operate as normal, roll with the punches. Larger issue, is this a nutjob lone wolf or someone being funded and guided by elsewhere.
Ultimately, as someone who has been critical of the undercover security apparatus (with good reason)and their efforts to "chase rabbits" rather than "real" threats in many cases, this is another security failure...two dead soldiers in a week, simply unacceptable.

Some of the idiots on CBC ....I amazed that they don't screw up inhale, exhale and repeat. Why couldn't the police just shoot him in the leg? Why'd they have to kill him? Another example of a special kind of stupid

This asshole was carrying a double-barrel shotgun. There was no big magazine, apparently. We don't monitor or control shotguns. Bad guys don't use long guns.
I hope that Harper has a sleepless night, sometime over that particular factoid.

The terrorist had a friend with him. The 'lone wolf' thing isn't exactly true because someone took a picture of him just as he started the attack and posted it on a jihadist site reportedly while the shooting was in progress.

I hope that Harper has a sleepless night, sometime over that particular factoid. My government doesn't monitor or control pressure cookers yet according to your logic they should because a moslem might use one for a terrorist attack. Good thing you weren't around during the civil rights era because your solution to lynchings would have been to monitor and control rope instead of hunting down the murderers and putting them to death like they deserved.
