It escapes me why people who are against this (or any mosque) being built on a particular piece of land don't just partially bury a pig on the property, Leaving it's ass end above ground!

I think the fear of Islamist reaction has been overplayed. The media will always rush in for a juicy story--I don't blame them; they want ratings. I do blame Obama and Harper adn all these other big-wigs who waded into the affair They should have just kept their mouths shut.

First off, American and Canadian troops are already targets in Afghanistan. Just like citizens of free countries everywhere are targets of Islamists. Secondly, I imagine that the Islmaists assume that Americans are defiling the Koran andyways. Burning a pile of Korans would be just one more outrage and an already big pile of perceived outrages.

If buddy doesn't have his BBQ, it's not like Osama is going to go "Hey, y'know maybe those guys are OK after all."

I like his take on it, pretty good summary of my own viewpoint. I think we can all agree on the "they can, but they shouldn't" line of logic for the mosque, the Koran burnings, and other similarly incendiary items.
