Recessions allow businesses the opportunity to become more efficient. As they ramp up as the economy starts to expand they will not recall all the employees they have laid-off. They will not need them and that's why we can expect continuing high unemployment. And, according to a story in yesterday's Wall Street Journal expect in the future to see a lot more outsourcing to Asian countries.

As unemployment levels go up expect the Oppos in the House to yak a lot more about "improved" EI. But don't expect Iggy to fight an election over it - the Libs aren't ready to do that.

Look at the height of the gates and how the bridge in the background is a lot lower down. Those are the floodgates on top of a dam that heads a reservoir.

Not in the SE part of the province, as the Pembina valley if fairly flat . Some of the hydro projects in the north ...maybe. It's only when you go N & W of Winnipeg do you find any hills, several river valleys and then Riding Mountain and the Duck Mountain which are actually old lake escarpments from Lake Aggassiz.

ahhh ok, The farthest 'north' I ever got in Manitoba was Lake Winnipeg lol Unless the 7 Sisters are farther north? Not sure, it was many moons ago that I lived in Winnipeg

I've been all over the province. Lived there for about 13 yrs., but haven't been back for a few years. I plan on retiring there, as it's too expensive in BC.... plus I've already bought a couple properties there too.
