This fellow has created a real tar baby for himself.

It's a sad commentary that these folktales have been lost. I remember seeing them on The Wonderful World of Disney when I was a child.

Shep, times change, for better or worse. My baptism blanket has on it.....SHOCK... a golliwog.
Now golliwogs are extinct and seen as a caricature of white racist views of black people.
I'll have that. If I was a black guy I would be less than impressed at golliwogs et al.
When I see something labled as racist I try put myself in the position that my black mates would look at stuff. It's not an exact science but I'm trying to see things from others points of view.

The tar baby thing fails that test. It has become something else besides a folk-tale and the bloody Tory MP should have sussed that out. I have and nobody votes for me.
