Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
LMFAO, you think CKA is a better place to learn, Tricks?
Then internet movies? Sometimes.
$1:
No, I read books. Debating 9/11 is far to controversial, trivial and complicated for an internet forum with a bunch of people behind computers.
Really? You've read books on 9/11? Care to recommend one? Or on any topic.
$1:
I prefer to get my edjumakation other ways then mindless drivel and insults on a website with people who are taking the subject on without really any effort or care other then to try and "beat" users of the "other side", like a freaking high school.

What do you think being a lawyer is?

Don't know what threads you hang out it, I prefer intellectual conversation.

Instead of:
Left: "You twit!"
Right: "Eat shit!"
Try LXD.

$1:
How about some good Canadian books, like "Nation: Canada Since Confederation",
Granatstein, nice

$1:
"Essentials of Canadian Politics and Government", or the complete survey of Canadians in "What Canadians Think (about almost everything)". And, one of my favourites... "Canadian History for Dummies". ;)
So.... you read books on shit you learn in school. Interesting.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
When schools start teaching about the October Criss, Air India, John A. MacDonald, Diefenbaker, and Canadian internal affairs instead of just the outside world, then I perhaps won't need to read books about it to teach myself.

School will never replace books.

Dude... John A. was in like grade 7 here. Dief the chief, and Air india weren't covered. October crisis was, briefly. They teach us that shit so that we actually know something about the outside world. They cover what you need of Canadian knowledge.

I guess education went a little downhill since I was in highschool because I studied loads of Canadian history including WW1 & WW2.

Knew all the PM'S and knew the history surrounding Cartier, HBC, 1812, etc.

My grade 11 history project was an in depth analysis of the Octobre crisis. (I got an A)

Trouble is that there is so much history its not possible to include everything.

Imagine we were english.

We did quite a bit on WW1 and WW2, but I figured that would be obvious. We really only went over major PMs, Mcdonald, Laurier, Borden, Mackenzie, maybe Trudeau. If we did others, I can't remember

We spent almost an entire year in grade 5 or 6 on Cartier, but never heard from that again. Very little on HBC, almost a passing reference. A little on 1812.

Sounds like you got a very good education concerning Canadian history.

Question: What do I mean when I say HBC? (a quick quiz)

That really sad. I'm not going to lie I didn't pay attention in history... or study. I did in university, but never in highschool. And my University history class had zip to do with Canada.

Are you kidding? Anyone with a tv or a radio has heard of HBC. They have credit cards rewards points too.

Yes but Tricks understood it from a historical reference. HBC could have meant anything but in a conversation concerning Canadian history he correctly picked it out.

Its not woolworths or JC penny right.

Most people think of it as the Bay and don't know the whole history behind what is probably one of the oldest companies on record.
