So you believe the myth that the media tells the truth?

Journalists with integrity do. Whether the media outlet relays that or not depends on the outlet.

Lawyers who quit before they could be disbarred, not so much.

The issue of Bias came to a head in the 60's or 70's. A lot of news cast were claiming to be "The Unbias Truth" or what ever slogan they were using. Then people started pointing out their bias. End of those type of promotions.

Still, like DrCaleb said, the news is supposed to report the Truth. The public wants it to be the truth as they see it so yell biased if it's not.

BRAH BRAH:
4 dead, 2 wounded in Southern California stabbings
$1:
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man who was “full of anger” went on a two-hour stabbing and robbery rampage in Southern California, killing four people and wounding two others, authorities said Wednesday.

The 33-year-old Garden Grove man was taken into custody after he came out of a 7-Eleven in Santa Ana, southeast of Los Angeles, and dropped a knife along with a handgun that he had taken from a guard, police said.

The violence appeared to be random and the only known motives seem to be “robbery, hate, homicide,” Garden Grove police Lt. Carl Whitney said at a news conference.

“We know this guy was full of anger and he harmed a lot of people tonight,” he said.

Ban all guns problem solved, it has nothing to do with mental illness.

As tragic as this is, the carnage is far less than it was in Dayton or El Paso, where dozens of families have been traumatized.

That's the point of gun control, to reduce the carnage, not totally eliminate it.

Given the 2nd Amendment, US individualism, the divisiveness in US politics, gun culture, the power of lobby groups like the NRA, it's tougher than ever.

The problem in the US is that gun control is a hodge podge of laws and regulations, instead of something across the country. California for example, still has a ban on high capacity magazines, so when shooters go nuts, they either had to have had travelled out of state to acquire those high-capacity magazines, or fewer people die.

As I said, that's the point of gun control, to allow responsible owners to shoot/hunt and to make it more difficult for nutjobs to shoot up public places.

The only deflecting is from the Left who thinks banning guns is the answer and it’s sad, very sad these deaths are not as important because it doesn’t fit their naive political agenda.

You don't know what deflection means, do you?

Banning guns is a proposed solution, not deflection... and for the record, most Left don't want to ban guns and I don't think anybody here proposed a gun ban. "Control" has been proposed a lot of times though. Not my fault if your eyes see "BAN" when somebody writes "Control".

R=UP

Yep, waiting periods, restrictions on high capacity magazines and some types of weapons are not a ban, it's regulation.

Selling cigarettes and booze are controlled, mostly because we don't want to make it easy for minors to buy them. Is it perfect... of course not. Does it help, of course it does.

Regulation, gun education and funding for mental health would probably go a long way to reducing gun violence in the United States.

Why not have a class in Public School and High School that teaches youth how to clean a weapon, and about Gun safety.

Your not going to stem the flow of illegal guns but maybe if these would be thugs understood how better operate a weapon, maybe less innocents would be wounded.

My god!!! Quick call the government! We need more regulations immediately. There should at least be background checks and registration.

"But Warren is going beyond some of the more commonly discussed ideas, such as stricter background checks or a ban on assault weapons. Her plan calls for creating a federal licensing system, limiting the number of firearms someone could buy, raising the minimum age to 21 for purchasing a gun, holding gun manufacturers liable (and, in some cases, even holding gun industry CEOs personally liable)."

Only going to point out what might not be viable. Limiting the number of fire arms owned. Might lose it the Supreme Court 2nd amendment issue. Holding manufacturers and CEO's liable wont make it. Can be argued that then Auto manufactures and their CEO's can be held liable in vehicle deaths.

The rest should pass without complication. I would as investigate the NRA about what.

Sad thing is while Mass Shootings were happening under the Obama admin. they (congress) did nothing. Now it's seems they are blaming Trump for all the shootings and by god we are going to do something now.
