Brenda Brenda:
andyt andyt:
They drive our roads too - and we have more roads, but way more traffic on them. How's your rush hour? Ours lasts all day.

Hey, it was your choice to live in the city, right? You can always move!

Same logic applies to you. You think all the goodies go to cities, move there.

Wow, you didn't get that. Ok.

(you have told me that numerous times. I figured this was a right time to throw it back at you. You didn't get it. I'm so sorry)

Andy need to realize that some his main complaints about the Mainland could be addressed by improving the roads north. Imagine if they hadn't built the Coquihalla and half the people in Kamloops & the Okanagan were competing for home in the mainland too.
Four laning Hwy97 ASAP would drop over an hour travel time to Prince George and reduce delivery costs both ways, and encourage more people to move north.
Four laning Hwy16 between PG and Rupert is a necessity if we wish to serve that port and not double the number of trucks serving the port down there in the next decade.
It's not like production of the North has been reduced, we've just stupidly decided to retain less benefit from our exports and paid for that with fewer jobs. That are already coming back.

I have no problem improving roads up north, Herbie. I think WAC Bennett did great for BC by opening up roads all over the province. I'm just saying this idea that Vancouver sucks the money out of the hinterland isn't on. We have shitty roads and our own problems. It's the modern way - cut taxes and let infrastructure go to hell. Along with education and health care and everything else that builds a well functioning society. I merely pointed out to Brenda that we have over half of BC's population living in the lower mainland, so of course a lot for spending will be concentrated there.
