But still, the CBC video tonight showed what they called protestors, I call insurgents, using rocks to overpower police. They took control of the prosecutor's office. Police there were in riot gear; they should have been able to handle that.

And yet, Russia will still continue to insist these are just average Joes trying to take their country away from facist radicals. Guess they learnt that trick from the CIA who armed the Mujahadeen to fight the Russians. At least they were paying attention to that one.

More bullshit. The police forces have clearly often been on the Russian side. That's why Turchynov called them traitors. To have police forces assist insurgents and make excuses for their behavior is unbelievable.

And it seems the pro-Russian population has no problem going out and confronting the Ukrainian army to leave, but the pro-Western population is nowhere to be seen. As Turchynov says, the East is lost, try to protect the West.

You've got to hand it to Putin. He clearly saw all this coming long ago and planned for it, while the west blindly thought it could tempt Ukraine with goodies. Seems a good chunk of Ukraine has said nyet to that. The chunk with some industry and resources. We, meanwhile will be stuck with a corrupt economic basket case that makes Greece seem like the height of fiscal probity.
