Can you definitively say that no grow-ops you ran drugs for set on fire?

What do you think Gunnair? Come on mate!

Well, there's something of a point then. Cut through the dross, and Curtman's point of locking up the dumbass joe zigzag that gets caught might mean that users don't bother trying to grow their own but continue to buy from grow-ops.

I don't like what the Liberals have done by boosting it up to 200 plants, but throwing yahoos with five plants in jail makes no sense either. A better cut off that reflects personal consumption vice trafficking would have made far more sense.

It's not just 5 plants.. That's Eyebrock's imagination.. It's 1-200 plants giving 9 months, not the 6 months he's talking about.

It's all stupid. Nutmeg kills more people than pot.

The wars were fought over Nutmeg, they are over, and now Nutmeg costs $0.50 per 100g or whatever it is..

Again.. There's no examples of anyone going to jail for growing their own pot. All of this is aimed at traffickers and organized crime, not grandma Nifkin growing her own pot for her glaucoma.

Pretending that everyone who grows one plant will go to jail is a stupid and transparent lie.

There was never a law that took away the discretion of judges to say that someone growing their own pot didn't deserve to go to jail.

There was, but it was in the U.S. and it had horrible results.

This bill would have only effected people selling pot, not the personal users.
Saying that everyone caught with a plant would be put in jail is a stupid and obvious lie.

Saying that anyone caught with a plant should be put in jail is stupid, and obviously lies are involved.

Agreed.

But that's the lie you're trying to sell.

Find some current Canadian examples of someone jailed for just having a plant or two, then you may have seome credability.

I'm not selling anything.

Bill C-15 is different. We're talking about the Canadian senate doing its job in blocking it.

Who told the senators to do that?

The bill was written by the legal representatives of the prople and approved in parliament by the legal representatives of the prople, including the leader ofthe opposition. The Liberal senators do not represent the will of the voters so they don't have the moral authority to change anything.

Liberal senators saved us from the prison state that the U.S. finds itself in..

The senate was created to give sober second thought to populist governments and their 'tough on crime' bills which do nothing.

Prove that. Show me one example of someone recently who went to jail for just having a plant or two. It should be easy for someone so connected to the industry as you are. If ot's so common, maybe even some of your friends went to jail for growing their own pot.

.. but you can't come up with one simple example because there are none.

ASLplease ASLplease:
having a referendum would work. cost effective, too.

We tried that under Mulroney (look up Charlottetown Accord sometime) and even ALBERTA voted against senate reform because it was packaged with something else they didn't like.

Given that senate reformers want senate reform but are unwilling to surrender anything to those provinces that would lose influence (like the Maritimes and both Ontario and Quebec), it really just boils down to a case of a bunch of babies wanting their cake and eating it too.
