poquas poquas: If the Libs are smarter than I think they are, they'll replace Dion before the "new session", and then I don't think there's any way out for Harper. The coalition will shitcan him on the first confidence motion, and election or GG approving the coalition, the Conservatives are going to reorganizing out in the wilderness again. I held an informal poll in our own family about an hour ago. Of the 17 voting members in our family in three provinces (all previously voted Conservative for the past few elections, including me), 5 openly and unconditionally supported the coalition. 14 including those 5 preferred the coalition over the present Conservative government with varying degrees of discomfort. More interestingly is that only one of us is still planning to vote Conservative if another election is called. 3 have switched to the Liberals if Dion is gone, otherwise 16 of the 17 (including me) is going anywhere but Conservative (unless there’s a huge shakeup there and Harper is dumped). That one guy still voting Conservative is another one of those screwballs that would vote blue even if Hitler was in charge (he’s 90 now, he allowed! ). For anyone offended ------------ again. Bite me. It’s too bad the polling firms never called any of us. Two more months of raving bullshit. This post has my vote for the biggest lie ever. Go to bed, you are obviously dreaming. ![With stupid [stupid]](./images/smilies/stupid.gif)

kenmore kenmore: Gunnair Gunnair: kenmore kenmore:
And I see your tory swastika. Nothing has changed but a little longer Christmas vacation for the Harpers. Gives Queen Laureen time to clean sussex drive and pack up the dishes. No matter how you swing it or would like it to be ridenrain harpers days are numbered. Wow... a few posts into the thread and you're backed into a corner so badly that swasitka comes flying out of your little bag of arguments... Fail. I'm not backed into any corner.. just pointing out the obvious.. harper is an autocrat ruler.. and torys are... well you get the picture. In the corner and flailing punch drunk. Even your colostomy bag of useless arguments is empty. Face it, muffin, you need to sit down 'cause yer done.

ridenrain ridenrain: Gunnair Gunnair: Canadaka Canadaka: I agree Thanos, that is what he SHOULD do, but Harper has shown no will at all to do any of that the last week. And blew his biggest chance last night. I suspect he will just pour millions into the propiganda machine, tons of ads and such to try and scare people and some MP's from dropping out of the coalition. Yes that is sure a leader, that sure is democracy. Good points, mind you to be fair, the coalition tastes blood, and I can't see them backing down even if Harper reached out. Where can they retreat to? Is Jack just going to say: "Ok.. it was just a test to see if you were awake?". For all the damage to Dion, Jack and the NDP were the greedy rats who brokered this deal and they can't blame all, or even most of it on Dion. My worry is that unless something is done to prevent this again, our parliamentary system will be tainted from now on. We'll have huge sweeping majorities on one side then the other, with decades of fighting and bickering for scraps in between. I just hope that our politicians learn to fear their ridings more than their party. Dion left the door open a crack today with the suggestion that if the Tories came back with a great package, they might be open to it....
