Not the status quo. The Libs are the big loser here.
Despite a crap Tory campaign they got 20 more seats. What does that say about the Libs?
Add in that the Liberals have two heir-apparents who are on different ends of the political spectrum.
A plague on both their houses is about to happen, but first they will be out for Dion.

And for those upset Liberals, all I can say is, welcome to you're wilderness years.

In the immortal words of Kent Brockman: "And I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords".

Congratulations to teh Conservatives, Prime Minster Harper and (begrudgingly) to his supporters on these threads.

Zip, the Tories got the result they deserved from a badly run campaign, but thanks anyway!

Not much point in the much talked about Liberal-NDP coalition is there?

Even combined they don't even come close to the number of seats held by the Conservatives. 8)

Just looking for the election map on CBC, I see the Conservative Greg Rickford unseated Liberal Roger Valley in my home riding of Kenora. Bonus!

PEI also elected a Conservative this time around, good for them :D

...sorta like you will experience in Nov. Obama Derangement Syndrome.

Obama seems to be mopping up the floor with McCain in many swing states.

What's that got to do with our election?
Didn't get the result you wanted last night, despite the pages of partisan rhetoric you posted?
Now it's 'lets slag anybody in who is remotely right of centre'? Did you used to like pulling wings off flies? Or do you still do it?

Silly.

What partisan rhetoric... please quote what you consider partisan rhetoric.

I said that I wanted to see a minority government again, leaving the status quo.

I also said that IF the Liberals, NDP and Green party took a page from the Conservative/Reform Party page and consolidated into one party... New Liberal Democrats, they would win a majority with the percentage of votes.

143 seats with 36% of the national vote. Basically because the NDP and Liberals split the vote... allowing the Concervatives to gain more seats.

That's why you have all those warnings. Because of your neutral approach.

No EyeBrock, I have those warning because I say what's on my mind regardless. You should meet me in person.

Those warning drop off in 30 days anyhow, according to Trev.

Well Canadian Gov't spent 250 Million dollars to get us back right back to where we were 6 weeks ago, a Concervative Minority Gov't.

Wouldn't it have been nice if the 250 Million dollars was put into the Canadian health system to employ more doctors, or equipment.

Would have been nice if Harper kept if his promise and waited the 4 years.

I take it suggest that Harper will be sucking Duceppe's cock is another example of you saying whatever is on your mind and not partisan? My 2 year old says whatever is on her mind too.

$250 million dollars is less than was wasted on a defunct firearms registration system and we are not where we were in 2006.
Harper has gained seats and the Liberals lost out big. Also Harper was punished for saying stupid things. Despite that he was close to a majority. Not a bad effort really.
There will be a leadership battle in the Liberal party which will see right-of-centre Iggy or well left Bob take over.

So it's a different political landscape and I believe democracy is worth $250 million. You can go and spout off whatever is on your mind away now.

From what I've seen so far, Liberals are calling for Harper to resign, and Conservatives are calling for Dion to stay.

Very telling.
