So when are you folks going to demand that the Quebeckers haul down their flag? Isn't it a symbol of treason and bigotry, not to mention the flag of the side that lost?
Nope on more than one count:
1) The British conquered Quebec from France in 1759, which is the only armed conflict that's ever occurred involving Quebec. It's wasn't treason for the then citizens of France to fight for France and English conquest.
2) During that conflict, the flag of Quebec (which was actually called New France at the time) was flag of France. The current Quebec flag is a provincial flag, first flown in 1948.
