Thanks for the link; I'm amazed that one news story can make every party involved look that bad. However, I'm not seeing anything that suggests the protesters had automatic weapons.

Right, right, because it is impossible for us to see if the firing pin mechanism of the gun. Gotcha, we should just assume he is using marshmallow bullets too right, because we cant see them ?

It's obviously not impossible the firearm wasn't altered by the owner, but I don't see any evidence that suggests it was altered. I won't conclude that the firearm was altered without at least a snippet of evidence to support that conclusion.

Ok, so maybe the AR-15 Assault rifle wasn't modified, maybe it wasn't loaded. I guess there was no real danger after all.
If I was an enforcement officer, I know I would've been treating it as unloaded.

Really ? Given that I didn't see anyone at the scene with a Mazooka I'd say it's safe to conclude that no one was using those dreaded marshmallow bullets. http://technabob.com/blog/2011/02/17/ma ... ow-cannon/

BartSimpson BartSimpson: Thanos Thanos: The Kansas shooting made my antennae stand up straight. Meanwhile, the second Fort Hood shooting didn't even rate a single topic on CKA. Funny that......Canadian site and all....

Ok sure. Maybe the Assault Weapons being used against law enforcement officials are automatic, maybe not. It's really not a huge point either way. Ok you win, they were just Semi-automatic assault rifles. Not fully automatic assault rifles. Although we really can't be sure can we? We should assume that this merry band of Law-Biding citizens would never do anything illegal. Just blocking a public roadway with Assault rifles, nothing to see here people. Don't worry we're pretty sure they never made the minor modification to make them fully automatic, not these patriots.

I can't wait for 8 more years of Democratic presidency in the U.S. If I was a candidate, I would make it a priority to start to clean some of this mess up.

I can't say for sure that a certain firearm is semi-automatic or automatic without personally tearing it down and inspecting the mechanism. However, I can determine the most likely state of the weapon and not use hyperbole to create an unfounded emotional appeal to support my political position.

Right, so which creates the greatest "air of Intimidation" for you ?
A.___ An automatic Assault weapon who's firing mechanism is unknown
B.___ A identical Semi-Automatic Assault weapon who's firing mechanism is unknown
C.___ Not enough info and so therefor no discernible difference

PublicAnimalNo9 PublicAnimalNo9: xerxes xerxes: $1: But when a little righty stands up to a big, bad left-wing govt, he's just some anti-govt nut.
Considering how many Tea Party and Militia types showed up with guns to fight the government on this rancher's behalf, I'd say that's accurate for once. Ah ok. So the rancher is an anti-govt nut because some wannabe warriors showed up to support him? When was the last time you held yourself personally responsible for the actions of others? You're shitting me. So when the black bloc goes riot, that's just a bunch of individuals who happen to show up at the same time?
