Fiddledog's a good guy. Intelligent too. He just has a tendency to double-down when the need to do so doesn't exist. I can see why anyone would say what A&E did was stupid and hypocritical, because it was. Curse of the double-downer. Even when they've effectively made their point with their own words they still feel the need to "win" by more. And thus end up sabotaging themselves by bringing in what they feel is support from discredited sectors, e.g. The Blaze, Breitbart, Sarah Palin, etc., that no rational person would ever take seriously.

I fully expect FD to come back in tonight and turn this already-silly topic into another "Thanks, Obama" episode just because the villainous and thoroughly wretched twats in the right-wing blogosphere have been doing the exact same thing all day today. Doubling-down isn't good enough. Sometimes they'll triple-down and apparently be completely unaware of how ridiculous it makes them look.

Well his freedom of speak was not violated but there is a slight chance he could win a court case over being suspended do to his religious beliefs. As for Duck Dynasty the show its one of the highest rated shows on A&E and the Christmas special was it's top rated show of the year.

I've watched the show about 4 times and never could make it through the whole episode. Like many of you have stated it's a show about a bunch of red necks doing and saying red neck things. Pretty boring IMO.

A lawsuit would have to depend on damages done, if he is left out of the final episode but is still paid he wont have much of a case.

I have little doubt that this entire 'controversy' is nothing more than an effort by A&E and the Robertsons to attract attention, drive up ratings and make even more money.

It certainly worked - before this happened, I didn't know anything about the show or these guys.

But it still won't get me to watch this show, as it looks like nothing more than 90210 for the flyover crowd.

I kinda suspected these clowns weren't anything like who they portrayed. If they'd just fessed up and called it a fiction show it'd be alot more easy to take. People wouldn't have enjoyed the Trailer Park Boys either if they'd tried to pass themselves off as reality TV.
