The scary part of this story is that anyone would actually have to DISCLOSE child porn convictions, as in we are counting on peoples honesty when it comes to working with children. They should be on a national registry, and be forced to register in any location that they move to. Any license to teach should have to be updated with new background checks every few years.

Can't speak for Ont. but in BC we regularly hear about teachers who slip thru the system because the investigation wasn't thorough enough. And at one time the schools would act like the Catholic Church - transfer the teacher to a different district just to get rid of them.
