How come everytime Wikileaks is gonna publish something big, the majority of information always seems to come from a disgruntled employee, which, when you think about it definately taints the credibility of the source.

Just for once I'd like to see the information come from someone without an axe to grind.

But, come what may it'll definately be interesting to see the inner workings of the Swiss Banking system, which has been shrouded in secrecy for far to long.

Also, the records are probably easily verfied. I'm sure it's not just the guys personal journal, there will be things like account numbers and names that can easily be looked up, I imagine.

But as for looking up these things, just how would anyone do it? It's the Swiss Banking establishment we're talking about here and I'm pretty sure that even after their employee of the year has finished producing all these documents and names, the Swiss Bankers aren't just gonna open up their files to allow him to prove or disprove his allegations and therein lies the problem.

All they have to do is keep denying his allegations and at the end of the day it'll be like Goebels said.

Given their history of being the preferred bankers of Nazi war criminals I doubt the Swiss will be doing too much quoting from Goebbels. Regardless I'm really looking forward to this particular revelation, plus the upcoming ones that are supposed to blow the lid off of what Bank of America does. If it takes a little creep like Assange to make our wealthy massas (the same smart guys who nearly collapsed the entire world economy) a bit sweaty under their collars then so be it. It's not like any of our governments or regular media have the guts to do it any more.

That is the entire point of Wikileaks. It gives insiders the ability to spill the beans about corruption and corporate misdeeds, without being personally identifiable.

But did he get there for his creation of facebook, or the slimy way he sells peoples info? I've heard nothing but complaints and warnings about the lack of privacy on facebook so I can't imagine he's lauded for that except by his advertisers.

You assume there is a difference? There is an old addage, 'If you are getting something for free, then you are the commodity being sold'. Facebook is just that, a way to advertise to people with your information as the commodity.

'Time' is a corporation that is lauding him for monetizing people's information, on behalf of all corporations. Farmville is a huge cash cow. This recent benevolence that Facebook is going back on it's most recent change to allow advertisers access to Facebook users' address and phone numbers is a great example.

Facebook allowed access to the data, then look like they are being the 'good guy' by disallowing any further data to be used, by 'listening' to the outrage of their users. However, those advertisers already had the weekend to copy all the data their connections could handle to offsite locations. The genie is out, and Facebook looks like the good guy.

And that was Assanges' point. He gets death threats for revealing the truth, Zucherberg gets 'Man of the Year' for letting auto dialers call your cell phone with 'You have won 25000 travel points' messages and spamming your email inbox. One is trying to let you know what your government and corporations are up to, the other is the predatory corporation you were trying to defend yourself against to begin with.
