Why should one have to have children only because she has a uterus?

Thats not my question. My question is: Why should every woman HAVE TO use the uterus she has? Why can't it stay unused, so she can do other things with her life than just have children and sacrifice at least a part of herself?

It has given women the freedom to have control over their own lives and destinies - which is a good thing.

Women can educate themselves and nurture their careers in their 20s and early 30s and get a professional career well established before having a family (usually at some point in their 30s).

The problem is that women's biological clock is ticking and the 20s is the best time to have a kid (chance wise). It becomes increasingly difficult the older a woman gets. So a professional working women might have always wanted and planned a family for the future, but then - in her 30s - realize she can't because of complications (due to age).

So that is the pitfall.

Luckily I'm a man and don't have to deal with any of this! :D

Want my personal opinion? (bet you don't but I'll give it anyways):

I have 3 reasons why I believe almost everyone should have children (at lest in Canada).

1) Humans like any other biological entity on this planet basically have one sole purpose, that is to reproduce. We are born, we have children we die, life goes on. If you do not have children, life doesn't go on.

2) Socialism: The life expectancy in Canada is 81 years, we have an aging population that wants to be supported by the younger generations. If you want the younger generations to support you, you need to make sure you created a younger generation to begin with. I am part of that younger generation, and I know that when all the baby boomers start to retire my taxes are going to go threw the roof, you think its bad now, just wait 15 years. Like it or not 95% of the time once you retire you become a drain on resources in Canada.

3) East vs West: Plainly put Western Society is going extinct, it all comes down to demographics, we have an aging population where as Islamic Society has an exploding population. In our desperation to get our population to increase Canada brings in huge amounts people who do not share our ideals, and with the internet (this forum is an example) those people will never assimilate. So my biggest fear is that in 50 years there will be no Western Society at all.

Note: I threw this together real quick so I haven't read it over

So you are saying that just because I have a uterus, I should have as many children as possible, take care of everyone (including daddy, who "works hard all day so when he comes home, he can sit on his ass), and totally forget about my own needs, only to make sure, that when I am of the age of retirement, I am already dead?

I am not allowed to do the things I love, because I have to take care of 14 kids? Or did you mean that I have to put them all in daycare so I can go to work too, so when I come home from a hard days work, I still have to feed my 14 kids and do 16 loads of laundry, plus the dishes? ONLY because I have a uterus??

I never said any of that, you did. When I was saying "you" I was referring to any married couple.

There is no reason why one cannot have children and still enjoy life. There is no reason why you need to have 14 children, I only said to contribute to the younger generation (basically have 2 children). There is no reason why you have to stay home all day doing housework. There is no reason why you have to forget about your own needs, and give up things you love. This isn't the 1950's, any self respecting adult can successfully raise children and still enjoy life.

P.S. No one "reaches" retirement age, you have to earn it.
