People who have never been to the lower mainland won't get how nuts this is.

The Patullo bridge is this old bridge that was built back in the 30s when traffic was still something like sane.

Technically it's four lanes, but if it was a modern bridge it would be two, and not a comfortable two.

Go over it at rush hour and you can't keep paranoid thoughts out of your head like, 'what if I sneezed and jerked the wheel? That would be the end of me."

This maniac roared up the center in the middle of rush hour.

To anybody who knows that bridge what he did is almost inconceivable.

She. Alcohol was most likely involved.

Which is something I've dreamed of doing ever since they divided the lanes with those stoopid cones......

I did it on the old Cambie bridge that had those cones to warn you of the bridge span in the middle of the lanes. In my '56 Fairlane with 312 Thunderbird V8. Forget if alcohol was involved or just inattention. Scared the shit out of myself until I realized the cones were just plastic and no harm done.
