I was gonna say get rid of him and put a Veteran in the position but then I read this.

The good people of his riding will likely keep voting for him. If his actions during Caledonia weren't enough to keep him from being elected, nothing will.

Actually let me finish my thoughts. I wanted him removed but it's quite apparent from this statement that he's suffering just like the Veterans he appears to be disrespecting daily.

$1:
The long career of this one-time Toronto shopping mall security guard seems to have a trail of soot attending him wherever he goes.

His former profession put him in the line of fire and likely led to his erratic actions when dealing with we Veterans. I'd like to remind everyone that teenagers can be the most vicious creatures on the planet and having to deal with them daily must have been terrifying for poor Mr. Fantino who, is a true Canadian Hero.

(Fucking sarcsasm off)

He's a disrespectful fuck who should be removed from office immediately and replaced with one of those people he thinks are beneath him. Maybe the Veteran he admonished for pointing a finger at him would be a suitable candidate.

I drive right through his riding every day and I doubt that there are many (or any) WWII veterans there who did not fight for Il Duce's brave legions.

I didn't say they had to replace him from that riding. ROTFL

I'm pretty sure there are a couple of Canadian Veterans left. Hell they don't even have to be WWII vets, they could be anybody who served longer than a stand easy in the Canadian Military.

BTW you'd be hard pressed to find any Veterans who "fought" for Il Duce.

Minister Of Parliament Fourth Class Stanley Tweedle Julian Fantino? Sorry. Not very often I get to use a reference to Lexx in regards to current events.

He probably believes that Veterans Affairs is a stepping stone to Minister of National Defence ... after the previous procurement thing and all.

That he's spreading his trail of ruin among the federal Tories after learning his craft at the feet of Dalton McGuinty (see the Caledonia disgrace as an example) shows that too often there is no difference at all between Conservatives and Liberals in this country. Julian Fantino's merely a Tory version of an Alphonso Gagliano or Denis Coderre, or some of those specimens from both parties that inexplicably get rocketed up into the Senate as a reward for their loyalty to the party machines. They're just a gaggle of careerists who really don't believe in anything, who won't stand up for any real principles, and who are using public service only as stepping stones to get to future profits and influence. Fantino's about as ugly as it gets to fulfilling the epithet "typical politician".

Democracy doesn't work because those who crave power are the very same ones who should be denied it. If we really want good leadership, draft the reluctant but competent, for relatively short fixed periods.

Until we finally smarten up and hand over complete control of the political system to neutral and 100% objective and non-discriminatory computers/AI's, then the rise of creatures like Julian Fantino is the price we'll keep having to pay.

Or, you know, we could just vote for good leaders. But this is Harper doing exactly what you all voted for - saving money. It just doesn't happen to be an area where you want him to cut, and the hypocrisy of his phony patriotism and "for the soldiers" just adds a little spice to the deal. At least with the NDP you know they'd be cutting the military, with no phony song and dance.
