From college superstar, to potential starting NFL QB, to not even good enough as a CFL backup QB...

How much of Tebow's fall is ability-based and how much is personality-based? From what I understand, Tebow's biggest problem is his unwillingness to keep his religious views to himself. The other 44 players in the dressing room don't want their place of employment turned into an evangelist's soapbox. Ditto for Cory Boyd and his departure from the Argos.

Difference is Boyd is (was)by all accounts a good player: RB who hits like a tank and takes 2-3 tacklers to finally drag him down. I think Boyd was more a victim of football economics than anything.

The NFL only cares about ability. Look at Michael Vick as an example. A convicted felon who was involved in illegal dog fights and he's right back on the gridiron because he can play football.

If Tebow made significant contributions to getting the ball to the endzone no one in the NFL would give a rip if he evangelized for the Flying Spaghetti Monster...they'd still pay him $40 million per year and every team would be competing for him.

Bottom line is he just isn't that great a ball player anymore. I sincerely doubt that anyone is discriminating against him because of his religious beliefs.

Tebow's biggest problem is his slow throwing motion.

It's all based on ability - Tebow just doesn't have a good enough arm to be a QB, either in the NFL or CFL. As Moon noted, in the CFL it's mostly passing, and if you're best skill is running the ball, as a QB here, you aren't going to cut it.

Who knows, maybe he could go to the Arena League - Kurt Warner and a few others spent time there honing their skills until they were good enough to play in the NFL.

As for his religious beliefs, I have no doubt that it pisses off some of his fellow players, but probably not enough to make much of a difference. Hell, lots of NFL football players thank God for letting them score a touchdown or make an INT.

If that were true in Tebow's case, he'd still be quarterbacking the Broncos.

He's no better nor worse now than he ever was.

It's not his beliefs but his insistence on preaching those beliefs.

He'd still be quarterbacking the Broncos if Peyton Manning hadn't been a free agent.

If that's the case and Tebow can prove the NFL is systematically sidelining him because of his beliefs then the NFL would be in for a sh*tstorm of trouble with their fans especially in the South. I just can't see them doing this. They're not that stupid.
