Good stuff to see drugs used for something other than just getting wasted. They should open research into LSD as well.

If it prevents the rash of suicides we're seeing in veterans then I'm all for it. I'm just not so sure that rave music is going to catch on in the ranks.

Maybe we'll have another age of flower power. The CIA researching LSD (including smearing it on SF BART bannisters and of course MK Ultra) is a big reason it moved into the general population. One of the test subjects at Stanford was Ken Kesey.

There's a difference between the dosage and quality of an ecstasy pill in the street and one in a therapeutic clinic.
I believe a lot in psychotropic drugs to help with mental illnesses. I've used illegal drugs therapeutically and it helped me. The problem is the 'illegal' status while in a therapeutic and controlled environment it could be beneficial.

One good example is the amphetamines. They are used on the street as speeds but it has a big therapeutic usage for ATHD in young children.

I'm a vet! I'm a vet! No, maybe 35-40 years ago. It might actually be dangerous at my age. Then again, that's what they're trying to prove isn't it?

They've been there and done that, with some very interesting results.

It's been studied as a way of treating clinical depression, and found to be faster acting, with far fewer side effects than SSRIs. Why not see how it works with PTSD, just don't get freaked when the test subjects become a little.............. amorous.

Speaking of amorous, I remember a friend who had quite an evening long ago (when Ecstasy was called MDA) and didn't realize he was smacking his head into the headboard while he madly humped away. Everyone laughed at the reddened imprint of a crucifix on his forehead in the morning, and she was embarrassed as hell as we all knew who hung a crucifix on her headboard!
