Aren't navy ships vulnerable after the Exocet?
Not really. After the Sheffield there was a concerted effort by all navies to build up the defense capabilities of warships against airborne threats. Things like multi target radars, a myriad of new CIWS, and passive deterents pretty much balanced it out.
But that's not to say ships have become invulnerable. Shoot enough missiles at them and one's going to eventually get through and take it out. But the survivability of warships is alot better than it was in the 80's especially since they stopped constructing the superstructures out of aluminium.
