I wonder why they didn't do a story on the Chinese, German, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Catholic, etc. etc. groups that only provide subsidized housing to people from their own communities?

Also, I notice that CTV coincidentally did a story on the same day but a Toronto Woman denied there, so it feels like someone is conducting a media campaign.

I can see why many residences want to cater only to certain groups as many seniors want to be surrounded by that which makes them comfortable, including being surrounded by members of their own ethnicity/faith. This also means that that particular residence is going to arrange activities/daily routines based on that particular culture/faith (i.e. Muslim residences arranging the day around prayer time) . If buddy isn't a member of that faith/group why would he want to live there? Because the rent is cheap? Maybe he needs to look at the big picture instead of trying to get his 15 minutes.

He was on a waiting list for a subsidized unit to open up in the building. While he was waiting some Muslim company bought the building and said, "No non-Muslims allowed". Now he's stuck waiting longer because some Muslim losers think they should be allowed to pretend they're back in the shithole countries they fled while enjoying the benefits of a free society that they completely disrespect at the same time.
Funny how you can't say, "No Natives" with out being crapped on by the same leftist douchebags who pretend that what's happening in this case isn't overt bigotry.
Meanwhile the Ontario Human Rights Commission, who basically wrote the anti-discrimination laws into the rental properties act, refuse to do anything about it unless a formal complaint complete with legal representation is received. So despite making the laws, the OHRC feels zero obligation to actually enforce them.

There was a news article just the other day about Prince Albert, where some dumbass advertised a rental property on Kijiji, but stated no aboriginals, no stay at home moms and those on social assistance need not apply.

Apparently it's legal for charities.

Here is a list of non-profit housing providers in the City of Toronto alone that specifically cater to certain religions or ethnicities, or other demographics (e.g. veterans). Deleted are the ones whose only exclusivity is for the disabled or elderly since those are different types of housing altogether (but if they only accept ethnic elderly, I left them on the list).

Whether or not any of the below will tolerate outsiders is hard to tell, since most understandably don't want to advertise that fact but you'll see that a few specifically state that they're only for Greeks or Hungarians, etc.

But, for the life of me I can't recall any court cases that allow Muslim only subsidized housing. So, the Supreme Court should clarify their methodology for granting special dispensation for some Charter Challenges on the subject while denying it for others.

Gosgnach said the same provision allows other groups to do the same “including seniors, artists, aboriginal, homeless/hard-to-house, individuals with AIDS and ethnic and religious groups including Christian and individuals of Lithuanian, Macedonian, Greek, Chinese, Hungarian and German origin.”

Since most of these groups will have been in operation a lot longer than this Muslim home, why not launch a charter challenge on the Christian homes, say, or aboriginals. My guess is the complainant would get their ass handed to them by the SCC.

I guess the Muslims are doing us a favor by highlighting all the discrimination we've allowed in our country, about which nobody says boo until the Muslim want it too, when all of a sudden it's an outrage, I tell, and outrage. We had Jewish civil courts operating for years, nobody said anything, (how can you say anything against the Jews), but when the Muslims asked for the same thing, all of a sudden it was an outrage. The Jewish courts should not have been allowed in the first place.

So I started going down the list.

They're sponsored by organizations.

The first one I checked was sponsored by the United Church. Now you're going to have to try real hard to convince me they're going to be selective in who they allow in. They're Progressives. I know this because it's why I left that church. There's nothing on any of the sites saying you have to be any particular religion, culture or ethnicity to get a room at their retirement village.

I checked another one that was sponsored by Ukrainian Orthodox. There was nothing there saying only Ukrainians allowed, but they were bragging about the multicultural area they were in.

So then I came across B'nai Brith.

Jews right? If the Jews are open to multicultural residency in their retirement village we're done.
