Remeber Eddie the Eagle? He was great for the Olympics, now multiply it by 30!

It's not a human rights violation it's a stupid mistake by the archaic IOC.
The same people that decided golf should be an Olympic sport.

I just don't understand why there is such a reluctance on the IOC's part to make womens sky jumping an event. As for it being a human rights thing, well it does discriminate against women in that there is mens sky jumping and the IOC has yet to come out with any valid reason for denying the womens event.

Sky jumping is difficult to film.

The court doesn't want to set a precedent that can be applied to other international movements that practice misogyny.

A sport must be widely practiced in at least 25 countries on three continents in order to be included on the Winter Olympics program. There are not enough women ski jumpers currently to meet this requirement as the sport is too new. Every other sport has had to meet these requirements so I don't know why women ski jumpers feel they're special and can jump the cue.

Beat me to it,

There would be nothing exciting about the US & Canadian womens team always wining the ski jumping medals, maybe that's why their trying so hard to get in.

That's the reason why woman's hockey is danger of being dropped from the Olympic roster because only Canada and the U.S. has ever won gold or silver. If a sport isn't being seen as developing then the IOC is going to drop it. Men's basketball was also in the same danger but luckily the Europeans seem to have upped their game and player development standards.

Personally, I can't believe that if there are men practicing the sport in 25 countries, women aren't in the same countries.

Isn't this about the Canadian women in particular? That was my understanding...
