The Corvair might have sucked in its design, but I remember having a lot of good drives in it with my dad.

It did have some major flaws though, the rear suspension absolutely sucked.

I remember that in the winter you had to have something fairly heavy in the forward trunk as "ballast".

Missing:
Rootes Group and Renault cars with that 'electro-automatic' transmission and iron-filing filled magnetic clutch....
1974-1976 GMC-Chev pickups with the pre-rusted body panels.
The Chevy Vega
The Omni-Horizon line with VW engines completely screwed over by Chrysler & 4 wheel drum brakes that stopped a tiny car as quickly as a city bus.

Compared to the Trabant, it's actually pretty decent. The Niva is a pretty tough vehicle actually. Comparable to older Suzuki Samauri's.

All the "Big 3" trucks at that time came with rust from the factory.

The Vega wasn't so bad.....especially when you could easily drop a Small Block into it. Even better when you could close the hood of one with a Big Block.

I don't understand what the explorer or the trabant have do in this list. The explorer is still a car I see a lot, and the Trabant has been sold for decades... I think this gentleman didnt do much research

How did my 1986 Mercury Capri hatchback not end up as No.1? 8O

The absolute worst vehicle I have ever owned. I was willing to pay someone to take it off my hands, but then decided it was much better suited for target practice so me and some buddies spent the better part of an afternoon and a ton of ammo relieving frustration! 8)

What?! No Yugo?!

$1:
A Halifax woman was pole-vaulted into the air when the driveshaft of her brand-new Chevette dropped off as she drove down a provincial highway, spearing itself into the pavement.

8O Wow, I bet Halifax lawyers were beating each other down trying to get to represent the lady first.

Why is the Explorer on there, outside of it being the first major SUV?

The S10 S15 Blazer and Jimmie and the Bronco II were around long before the Exploder.
Ford Aerostar was another real winner.
A lot of junk to choose from, this guy hated AMC so much he missed a lot of other bad cars of that era.

True, but from what I read, the Explorer was the one that set off the SUV craze.

Anyway, the Honda Element and the Nissan Cube deserves to be on there for pure ugliness.
