"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday handed a victory to President Donald Trump by allowing his latest travel ban targeting people from six Muslim-majority countries to go into full effect even as legal challenges continue in lower courts."

$1:
The nine-member court, with two liberal justices dissenting, granted his administration’s request to lift two injunctions imposed by lower courts that had partially blocked the ban, which is the third version of a contentious policy that Trump first sought to implement a week after taking office in January.

The high court’s action means that the ban will now go fully into effect for people from Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen seeking to enter the United States. The Republican president has said the travel ban is needed to protect the United States from terrorism by Islamic militants.

In a statement, Attorney General Jeff Sessions called the Supreme Court’s action “a substantial victory for the safety and security of the American people.” Sessions said the Trump administration was heartened that a clear majority of the justices “allowed the president’s lawful proclamation protecting our country’s national security to go into full effect.”

I disagree that this is any kind of a victory for Trump. The Constitution and the law clearly delegate this authority to the President so he hasn't won anything he didn't already have.

Considering the last few attempts have been blocked by the courts, it kind of is a victory.

It'll only be any kind of a win for anyone against terrorism when Saudi Arabia is added to the list. Until then the list is a crock, based more on which country does or doesn't have a Trump Hotel in it than on who is producing the most terrorists or financing them. Sorry, I forgot, the US and Saudi are best friends and the Arabs do have that neat glowing orb o'doom to reel in the rubes and all.

Lower courts blocked it.

Had President Trump gone by the Constitution he could have ignored the lower courts as not having jurisdiction over him (they don't) and then forced the matter to the Supreme Court. I think he was trying to appear to be reasonable all while knowing the certain outcome of the case.

Note that the question of the case was not about Trump, racism, or etc. but about whether or not the President of the USA (regardless of who it is) holds this authority.

Seven Justices (including two liberals) correctly held that it does.

The other two, Ginsburg and Sotomayor, are assholes.

Well...their Prince is currently cleaning house on the radicals so maybe there's hope.

We'll see.

Nothing like the carrot of selling them a trillion dollars in weaponry to make folks like the Saudis pretend that they're correcting their behaviour. Like a New Age parent in a store telling their brat "well, you only threw three horribly embarrassing tantrums in the last hour since we left the house instead of your usual four tantrums so I guess that means I owe you a toy!". :|
