A friend of mine ( he is gone now) was a CO. Out on patrol one fall he had to change a tire when he was accosted by an ostrich (escaped from an ostrich farm.) It was very aggressive. He says he looked at the bird and explained he had a 12gauge in the cab. Apparently the aggressive pecker head cocked its head, looked around and backed off. Go figure.
