Interesting is that Trump is having a comparison done of the F-18 against the F-35 and suggesting that a run of the F-18 might be done to fill in the gaps.

Maybe Canada might be able to leverage a better deal by tacking their order onto the US order?

The F-35 is a POS jet. It looses in almost every department, range, payload, reliability and the most important maneuverability. It get's trounced every time when up against F-16, F-18 airframes, I don't know why people are so hot and heavy for this lead brick. This reminds me of the time decades ago, when they took out the gun from most fighters like the F-4 etc thinking that tech, and missiles will win hands down. They ended up putting guns BACK into jets after very dismal performance in Vietnam etc.

Have we learned nothing?
