What always amazes me about that story is how he makes it from the bay to Chinatown without getting run over.

I thought maybe pipes of some sort but then I saw a picture of him walking down a deserted street. Late at night or early morning maybe. You'd think some homeless guy would see him walking across Georgia or something, though.

And how did he smell Koi from the bay the first time anyway. Maybe he just smelled the fish in the open market stores of Chinatown and thought he'd investigate some night. So yeah, that makes sense. A good breeze would explain that.
