Reverberations of the Ferguson events were evident at the St. Louis Rams' game.

Inside the dome, five Rams players engaged in their own apparent show of solidarity for Ferguson protesters, standing with their arms raised in a "Hands Up" gesture before trotting onto the field for pregame introductions. All five — Tavon Austin, Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey, Jared Cook and Chris Givens — are black.

After the game, about 100 protesters marched in the area near the Edward Jones Dome, chanting, "Ram fans — join the movement." When about three dozen St. Louis officers in riot gear showed up to make sure things didn't get out of hand, many of the fans broke out in spontaneous applause for the officers.

IMHO what they did had nothing to do with football but if their managers are okay with it then so am I. They have freedom of speech just like everyone else.

I'll believe they're sincere about social change if and when they come out and mime the death of Zemir Begic but that'd take some creativity unlike they're blatant rip off of the symbolism Tommie Smith and John Carlos used in the 68 Games.

Should they be punished. No, they're entitled to their opinion and their hopelessly immature, self promoting act that will be seen over and over again by millions should be punishment enough .

I didn't know that. This is interesting because a good friend of mine who lives in Lee's Summit (a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri) recently had a black thug try this with him in KC. The attempt did not go well for the young thug. Not well at all.
