No kidding. The first place I read this news was one of the lefty blogs I read which was a lot less even handed than the link I posted here. The people commenting think that only NRA members watch the show. I'm a card carrying liberal and I watch the show.

I think this guy personifies why Canadians perceive evangelical types of people as 'fake'. I watched the show a few times, but thought it was too contrived to be real. It seemed to have scripted confrontations, and seemingly trivial problems were made to seem larger than they needed to be.

Mr. Hayden seemed to be the type who was quick with a 'God Bless' and 'Thank You for your service!', and never seemed to be sincere when he said either. It only seemed he said such things as a tool to get more paying customers. Now I can see that those perceptions may have been correct.

I used to have a T-shirt that my mom HATED

I`ve watched his show a couple of times. I like him. He has a positive and motivational message that I think transcends religious dogma. He also doesn't seem to dwell on the gospel verbatim like some evangelicals, most of what he has to say is pretty practical.

True. My parents like him for that reason. But if you really listen to his message, it doesn't reflect what's in the bible. He says Jesus wants you to be rich. Not in spirit or in general happiness but materially rich. And that could not be further from Jesus' teachings.
