The fact that neither party could possibly win a majority is good news. They might start acting reponsibily now and stop threatening to force an election. Harper is on the skids but there is no great love for Lord Ig either. The important thing to focus on after they return is the budget; fortunately Igantieff has recognized that.

Well lets hope neither side starts playing silly buggers with the budget. I think Iggy has learned his lesson about not threatening an election. I don't know about Harpo sticking some poison pill in the budget.

You hope he has learned his lesson, but you never know.

I'm always hoping the children (so-called honourable Members of Parliament) in Ottawa can work together, but it never seems to happen, because one side or the other is always out to tweak the other's nose.

After taking about a national daycare plan while trying to re-ignite the abortion issue this past week, I'd say the last thing on his mind is the budget.

At one time he said the budget was his priority - more stimulus, more EI. But at another time he mused about higher taxes. In reality, lord knows what he thinks.

Yes all we can hope for is they decide to act like the Adults they are supposed to be , and god I hope they realize they have had their holidays for the year summer or not . They should all be ashamed of their contempt of us the people who pay their fat cat salaries.

The fact that no one party needs to have a majority any more is good news. Steve has been yelling about the big bad coalition for so long now, we're expecting it.

Another 62% majority for a coalition will not leave us with they tyranny of Harper again.

What are you babbling about now 62% majority for a coalition ? You do realize the last coalition attempt Canadians weren't consulted whether we were comfortable with giving the separatists a slice of the pie in being part of the governing body of our country.

What happen was there was an election, WE not duceppe, Iggy, layton put Harper in charge again. But your heroes didn't like the results and first chance they got they slapped the face of Canadian voters by trying to overthrow Harper.

Kind of hypocritical of you considering you've been prancing around here the past few weeks preaching the importance of respecting democracy the will of the people and all that shit.

You realize it's going to be an election issue, because Steve will make it one. He's going to yell about how Cons need to get the vote out so the coalition can't happen. He's going to justify it himself.

Center/left voters aren't afraid of a coalition. They aren't going to vote conservative because they are outraged about it. Conservative voters will vote coalition because they dont like Steve though.

What will prevent Tories from doing that is the fear of the Bloc having any say in the running of the country.

Define "Center"? Because I believe the backlash against a coalition wasn't just us righties. Also, no Conservative will vote to give the Bloc power like the former coalition almost did
