They would be quite a collectors item. Can you really blame somebody for wanting to have something to remind of that great moment?
True, it's not nice to steal things, but I think this is a bit understandable,

I wonder what happened to the puck as well. The puck is almost worth as much as the gloves/stick. Any which way you look at it the person who took it won't be able to sell it on the open market which kind of diminishes the value.
