My folks used to live in the Shuswap and as far as I can remember, the only commerce or industry that the Shuswaps engaged in was the placement of billboards all over the land that they have such a close spiritual connection to. In fact, the Shuswap are notable for their total lack of achievement of any kind during pre-Columbian days. ... nothing compared to the coastal peoples with which they must have had contact, anyway.
