So, free market capitalism isn't working for you? Socialism is fine, so long as it provides you lower cost products of equal quality?

Sorry Bernie Donald. Fix your own problems first, don't come here making trouble for us.

Thing is prescriptions went through the roof when Obama Care came into effect. They were already high. Now it's just killer. Not blaming Obama Care alone. Pharmacy companies are being freaking way to greedy. Reasonable regulations is what's needed IMO.

Just how that is to be done and what is "reasonable" is always up for debate.

No, regulations is not socialism. Me paying my way and helping to pay everyone else's way is Socialism.

State volume purchasing of healthcare and prescription drugs in order to get volume discounts, is Socialism. ;) Regulating who provides health insurance, and how much it costs is also Socialism. ;)

You still pay your way, just the costs are lowered so everyone can afford it.

Yet my cost went UP when Obama Care started. Not down. My taxes went UP under Obama not down. I had less to spend and less to show for what was taken from me. I did not get better coverage and my co-pay for prescriptions went up. I was forced to change plans. So if what you are saying is Socialism then what did I get?

Answer SCREWED.

So many others did also. That is why we as a society that did get F'ed over don't want it to happen again.

Can't have regulations of industry in the GOP, companies may not be able to fleece the public if you do that.

Obama care wasn't a single payer system. That's what he's referring to.

Also, coincidence is not causation. Just because the price of gas went up when Obamacare became, does not mean they are related.

Obamacare did not involve the cost of Epipens, yet the price went up 1000% or some unreasonable amount. Same for prescriptions. Look at that recent finding that companies were colluding to prevent generic drugs from reducing name brand costs.

https://arstechnica.com/science/2019/07 ... he-market/

That had nothing to do with Obamacare.

The reason prescription drugs are increasing in costs is because the US refuses to limit the companies from holding people hostage by threatening their lives by pricing drugs out of reach that they depend on to live. We have laws in Canada that prevent it, so drug prices stay reasonable.

And drug companies still seem to make a good profit out of it.

Donald? Uh yeah. Bernie is one of the Americans coming here for cheap drugs. Of course it's cute how once again Trump gets shit on for something Obama did. Obama needed Big Pharma to get on board with Obamacare so he essentially gave them free rein on prices.

As for your cute little shot in your first sentence, Windsorites have been going to Detroit for chronic heart care since the days of Bob Rae. Those hospitals were nice enough to accept OHIP as full payment even though the bill for an American getting the same treatment would be much higher.

Socialism wasn't working for those with chronic heart care problems in Southwestern Ontario so the govt went begging to the capitalist health care system in the US.

See the difference? Americans are coming here for cheaper drugs while Canadians HAD to go to Detroit to get health care the govt was UNABLE to provide them.

It is literally the second paragraph.

$1:
On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump's administration said it would create a system to allow Americans to import cheaper Canadian drugs legally.

I see your record of not reading the article remains untarnished. ;)

The USMCA extends patents in Canada for American drug companies.

Just thought I'd throw that into the mix.
