Very Sad. WE need to look at how we are treating returning soldiers....

Returning soldiers are treated fucking well, especially compared to vets of old. Don't be duped by the media. I wont speculate as to what happened here, but every soldier has the right to walk away from a range.

The event happened more than 4 years ago, the soldier even admits his guilt and is not whinning to the press, this is dear old dad, sticking his nose where it does not belong.

The court marshal is a procedure like any other justice procedure, the evidence will be viewed and a verdict made based on the sicumstancial evidence. Having PTSD will reduce the sentance if not have the chrged stayed. You have to wait and see the verdict before jumping to any conclusions about how soldiers are treated.

I was charged with a 119 under the QR&Os during Basic, along with a few others in my platoon. I had cut myself shaving and bled onto my collar during the RSMs inspection. We found out the night before that one of our NCOs had been less than polite to his wife at a function the night before. Politics was alive and well....it cost us each $50

EDIT:

During Fleet School a bunch of us were part of an honour guard for some event I can't remeber. A friend of mine had the bad grace to pass out during the review by the Lt. Gov and caught shit when he admitted he hadn't ate breakfast that morning. Not a good thing while standing in ranks, at attention, with a fixed bayonet on the C1.
