Given that it's Canadian politics 101 I'm thinking she got removed more because of her refusal to tow the party leaders line than any of her comments.

I'm also inclined to agree with Charlie Angus. Politicians are there to rule (even the unelected ones who have no justification for their position), not give us opinions on topics they have no expertise in. If we really wanted uninformed, incorrect and completely biased opinions we could just call a celebrity.

I read some of the 'offensive' and 'racist' comments and they didn't seem far off of a lot of the things Shep has posted here and he's one of the last people I'd accuse of being racist.

But you folks live in Canada where the truth is called 'hate speech'. :|

Party has the right to decide who can or can't be a member. What Scheer did is no different than the GOP deciding that anyone in their ranks who believed in bipartisan compromise or anyone who rejected the works of Ayn Rand could no longer be a Republican.

Scheer realizes that Canadian conservatives have rejected extremism. Harper bet on it with his "Barbaric Cultural Practices Act" and it was a factor in his loss. The far right of the Conservative party - Chris Alexander and Kellie Leitch--were roundly trounced in the Conservative leadership bid. And Beyak's extremism was just going to be a big vote-loser for the Conservatives.

Canadian Conservatives are about the equal of most American Democrats. It's no surprise that they'd give the boot to an actual conservative who isn't afraid of the truth.

And what truth would that be? That standing on the throats of those who are already down is the manly and Christian thing to do? :?

Thanos Thanos:
And what truth would that be?

That the repression and overbearing nanny-state of the Canadian government has reduced the once fierce, proud, and self-sufficient native population into a bunch of whiny, self-indulgent, entitled, socialists.

In short you people turned the natives into Canadians.

But we are lucky to have you here to show us the true path...

Bart's right. The better thing to do would have been to exterminate most of them, deport the survivors to a Florida swamp, and then use their former land as places to dump toxic mining waste. Just like America did.

But her constituents don't and this act denies them their representation in Parliament.
