I kinda wonder about this. Odd behavior really.

I've seen cats and dogs taken by hawks, and cats skewered by ravens. Wouldn't surprise me if an eagle tried for a child.

We aren't always the top of the food chain.

That's actually why they created it. It was the final project in an animation course.

I've seen an eagle trying to pick up a dead Sea lion weighing a couple hundred pounds at Long Beach on Vancouver island. It was obviously planning on taking it home with him! I've also seen an eagle hooking into a Chinook salmon on the Atnarko River east of Bella Coola. The only problem there being the salmon probably weighed over 20 pounds, anyway the eagle couldn't lift it and couldn't extract it's talons from the fish. The bird was actually pulled under the water by the fish while flapping like hell, it finally got loose and the last we saw of it it was "swimming" toward shore while being swept downstream.

Anybody else click around on YouTube for the Eagle kill vids?

This one where their dragging sheep off the mountains is a bit of a jawdropper.

Click the 5 minute mark for the best example

There's another one where Mongolians are using them to hunt wolves.
