I'm having some doubts that the rest of the family knew nothing about this, including mom who lived upstairs from the couple. (Where was dad living?) I assume the FBI is giving these people a good going over.

I wonder if his Islamic studying in Mississauga contributed to his radicalization? He was there for two years. Maybe it played no role at all, according to the owner there is no radicalization at her school.

Someone, somewhere was leading the horse to the water, maybe a fellow student? Family member? A good Canadian "friend"?

They're not. They don't want to be accused of profiling by their bosses or the media.

I don't know why the media even asks the families any more, it's
always the same answer, almost as if it was a rehearsed answer.

We didn't know anything, yes he/she/it got more religious the past weeks/months,
he/she/it went to the mosque more.

It's a complete shock to us, we had no idea.

Same answer, every time.

Radicalized for a long time, they should have been Institutionalized for that period of time.

As a practical matter, they probably don't keep weapons in the mosque, especially since this couple was acting alone and had stopped attending the mosque some time ago.

Even the one mosque in France that had AK bullets in it wasn't your typical mosque, this is what it looked like:

There are no rules as to what a mosque or a church has to look like.

Yeah, but the reason this one is an obscure, nondescript building which appears to be either a semi-permanent or unfinished structure,is probably that it's a terrorist hangout first and foremost and probably not a mosque that's open to the general public.

Looking at that picture it's undergoing some sort of renovation. So long as they have a permit and the changes are up to code why would it be remarkable?

I don't understand your question. I'm just saying it doesn't look like your typical mosque - no domes or minarets, no obvious signage, it looks like a hideout.

Aren't we usually on opposite sides of this argument? [huh]

In any case, this is the Masjid Annur in Sacramento. When they first bought it the place was a vacant 'Best' discount store and it needed considerable work. Even after 20 years or so they still don't have domes or minarets.
