xerxes xerxes:
Too good IMO. There's no one in her weight class or gender for that matter that can properly challenge her.
It's like Women's hockey. There's Canada, the US, and then a huge gulf in talent between them and the rest.
I'm guessing you know the story by your mention of weight class and gender, but just in case somebody doesn't, it might be time to remind ourselves of the two MMA fighters who do want to fight Rowdy Rhonda. So far she's refused but after this the calls will come up again, and the gate for either fight would be big even for a male heavyweight champion fight.
First there's
Fallon Fox.
Fallon Fox (born Boyd Burton;[2] November 29, 1975)[1] is an American mixed martial artist (MMA). She is the first openly transgender athlete in MMA history
There has been substantial dispute as to whether or not Fox possesses an advantage over other female fighters. In an interview with the New York Post, UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey said that she felt Fox had an unfair physical advantage due to having "the same bone structure a man has".[14] Eric Vilain, director of the Institute For Society And Genetics at the University of California, Los Angeles, disagreed, stating in Time magazine that "Male to female transsexuals have significantly less muscle strength and bone density, and higher fat mass, than males". Vilain reviewed Fox's medical records and supported her right to fight as a woman.[2][9]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallon_FoxThen there's
Cyborg Santos.
Cristiane Justino Venancio (formerly as Cristiane Santos) (born July 9, 1985), commonly referred to by her nickname Cyborg, is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and the former Strikeforce Women's Featherweight Champion and the current Invicta FC World Featherweight Champion. Justino won the Strikeforce title on August 15, 2009, by defeating Gina Carano via first-round TKO.[2][3][4] She lives in San Diego where she trains and teaches at The Arena.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cristiane_Justino

This weekend, two women's champions looked dominant as they defended their titles. Ronda Rousey needed just 14 seconds to keep her belt, while Cristiane Justino won her fight in 46 seconds. As the UFC continues to answer questions about what is needed to get these two into the cage, the fact remains that a lot of work will have to be done in order to put together the biggest fight available in women's mixed martial arts.
Even through "Cyborg" and "Rowdy" have years of going back and forth between each other on the books, there are a number of hurdles that need to be overcome before they can get into the Octagon together.
UFC President Dana White addressed the main issue of Justino fighting in a higher weight class.
“The thing is with Cyborg is making that weight. I don't know if she can make the weight,” White said during the post-fight conference (via MMA Fighting). “She has to make the weight.”...
