This isn't 'new' there are about 12 other states that do this routinely to not allow federal laws within the state. It is sort of like the notwithstanding clause in the charter.

Doesn't mean they are wanting to leave the union. Though I believe Texas is the only state that 'could' legally separate from the USA.

Texas is doing pretty well as far as I hear. The 15th largest economy in the world with one of the lowest tax rates in the US (and no income tax).

:o Oh no! They have higher taxes in some respects because they have no income tax! How horrific! It's almost like they want to balance their budget!
