Realistically theres a lot of research going on about regressing your own normal cells into Stem Cells so you can can donate organs... To yourself.
Although those regressed Stem Cells could grow up to be perfectly happy and normal clones of you if planted into a fertile womb so you can still say your killing babies and cloning humans and commiting suicide.

It isnt about re-growing but adding to what you already have, and there is medication for that......

In the cases of nerve injury that impairs function like spinal cord injuries its not a matter of the nerves not regenerating but of them not being able to rewire themselves properly.
