Sweet. We can now have a bad-ass bird as a symbol. And it's red, which is Canadian. :P

That's sounds ok.

The ''Canada Goose'', it already has the name to be a strong contender. :)

Also the Blue Jay, at least for one of Canada's baseball team.

I pick the red-tailed hawk for the win. It's a bad-ass bird of prey, can be found even in Northern Canada, is commonly seen by Canadians and has red in its name and red is a Canadian colour.

I think a Snowy Owl would be the best choice....looks more Canadian, more wintery.

Here's the problem: It's Quebec's provincial bird and not common to the whole country. Canada's national bird should be representative of the entire country, not just one or two regions.

Yeah, but so far the red-tailed hawk seems far and away the leader with over 85% of the votes. :P

Hey mods, we should probably merge this thread with the other thread about Canada's national bird.

Loon, don't care if it's taken, it's the best choice.

Personally I don't want a Bird of Prey, that's just not the Canadian way. Now if there was a non-Aggressive bird that would f*** you up if you cornered it, I'd be all for it.

Agreed. The red-tailed hawk would be a good pick.
