Hello fellow Quebecers look around you! Highest taxes in the country. Yes we have the most social programs and all that but take a good second look, most of them are useless, broken or inaccessible, in short of the ones we have that other provinces have ours are among the worst. So if we are paying such high taxes now and getting help from the feds more than many provinces, how the bloody hell can you buy the line we'd be fine on our own? Thats akin to saying 1 + 1 = 10

I have to give the Landry LOL credit for his lame attempt to win votes. I mean threaten Quebecers with not fixing provincial government corruption and inefficiency unless they get on board the separation train? It would be funny if not for the fact enough idiots are goning to buy it!

This ex-PQ leader went on SRC the other day and actually defended the situation in Greece.

The PQ, as a political party, want a country but have not been able to manage the province even during their regime. Big bureaucracy, syndicats (unions), several social programs but as long as they keep taxing the population though.

I guess you missed the point, they will start to manage effectively when they separate

Even if Quebec separates they will still:
* Insist that Canada pay their bills.
* Insist that they have the right to blame Canada for all of their problems.
* Insist that bilingualism remain the law in Canada all while they predictably engage in an anti-Anglophone pogrom.

Yeah it will, it's just the separatists have deluded themelves believing that once they separate, they'll still get to maintain the old status quo.
It might take a lot to get a Canadian pissed right off and get involved, but that would do it.

Look up the concept of "sovereignty-association", they figured they could have their cake and eat it too.

Separatists are a minority... how many time I have to say this ?
Right now we are much more talking about the corruption in the Liberal party and the huge debt we have than separation. Only some old and crazy baby-boomers like Landry who failed with his "dream" are still talking about separation.

What's bad is that our media give them attention.

So get over your Quebec bashing.

Proculation Proculation:
Separatists are a minority.

True. Just like the Bolsheviks were a minority in Russia at one time or how the 'Patriots' in Colonial America were also a scant 15% minority.

Meaning that just because they are a minority does not mean they can't somehow, someday have their way.

Bart, I live in Quebec. I've done provincial politics.
The old separatists are just desperate because they are old and dying now and they do not want their dream to die with them.

I'm 26 yo and most of my friends want to live their life and have a better future for our children than to think about an 'old dream'.

Those people in the news are desperate but they have the mic whenever they wanna express their opinion. In 10 years from now, we won't talk about separation. We will talk about how to save our province from bankruptcy. The only thing that's keeping us into the separatist/federalist dichotomy are these old fools and they are all gone in 10-15 years. God bless God for an end to that.
