It's almost like Quebec doesn't understand what generates all the tax money for those transfer payments.

Or you're being pitched the same bullshit as Christy Clark and her LNG dream in a depreseed market.
Oooohhh spend billions and billions to sell your product for as little as possible... good thinking!

?
Price of oil has to go back up eventually.

Also, the oil is going there anyways. But now it'll be shipped by rail... ...yup, trains hauling crude through Quebec. What could possibly go wrong?

Nothing. Trains are already there, they don't need to spend billions. Do you really think they give a shit if another one blows up and burns another town to the ground? It's all about ROI.

The next train that blows up, destroys a town, and kills dozens of people will be entirely the fault of anyone opposed to Canada's pipeline industry.

On the radio they reported that one major factor for TransCanada was the fact that the demand for the TCP is diminished now that other pipelines like transmountain and Keystone have been approved

Great rant, Rick. R=UP Robair

Jesus are we all stupid? We just experience massive hikes in gas prices because refineries in Houston, which has SFA to do with Canada, were down for a hurricane. The fucking money is in refining, you can manipulate the price.
The population dislikes pipelines because they spill messy oil if they leak.
A: refine the fucking oil right at the site. $20 billion will make one hell of a huge refinery
B: send GASOLINE thru the pipe. If it breaks it will evaporate. If it breaks on or underwater it will float and then evaporate.
The supply Canada with our own oil gets solved. Thousands of PERMANENT high paying jobs are created. Risks are greatly reduced.
Your grandfathers told you this shit, they didn't tell you the answer is to export MORE raw oil, raw logs, more unprocessed ore. 35 years of bean counting Conservative arseholes interested in furthering their own pockets, not yours, have convinced you otherwise!
