Brenda Brenda:
He already had served his sentence. Since the US cannot provide docs that show that is untrue, legally, Switzerland made the right decision.
I guess the US have to wait until Polanski leaves Switzerland for any other country than France or Poland, and start over, this time with a full file.
Brenda, he fled the country
before he was even sentenced. How can he have served his sentence?

Film director Roman Polanski arrived at his Paris apartment yesterday (after a stop in London) having fled the United States just hours before he was to have been sentenced in a California court for his admitted unlawful sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl last March.
Bart this quote from the article pretty much sums up what a weasel this guy is:
In exchange, the judge agreed to drop the remaining charges and sentence him to prison for a 90-day psychiatric evaluation. However, he was released after 42 days by an evaluator who deemed him mentally sound and unlikely to offend again. The judge responded by saying he was going to send Polanski back to jail for the remainder of the 90 days and that afterward he would ask Polanski to agree to a "voluntary deportation." Polanski then fled the country on the eve of his Feb. 1, 1978, sentencing
So he could have done 48 days in Jail and would have been allowed to leave with no further obligations to the justice system, whether you agree or not with the original bullshit sentence.
