With all the stupid things humans can do it's quite impressive to see them also do something like this.
Yea, I wonder where our priorities are sometimes. When Armstrong came back from the moon, cities across the world had big tickertape parades for him.
When NASA took detailed maps of one of the largest objects in the asteroid belt, Vesta, no one even noticed. When the ESA basically shot a golf ball from L.A. to Mumbai and got a hole in one 10 years later, one of the Scientists' shirt seemed to be bigger news. Professor Higgs' particle was found, revealing great insights into our Universe, and does the man even get a parade? And putting a probe on Titan! Does anyone remember that?
I can't wait to see what Pluto really looks like. It'll be neat after it passes Pluto too, as there are 3 Kupier Belt objects in it's path that can be surveyed.
