Maybe she got off a little easy, compared to the fistfights that used to happen when the Bruins came to the Forum.

Those assholes aren't sports fans. They went to the game to drink and show true fans how not to act. Mission accomplished. Likely assault charges & lifetime bann in the offing.

Nice gesture by Mr. Melnyk and the Sens organization though. I have a feeling the Habs organization wants to do something similar for her based on their desire to have her get a hold of them.

The same bunch of assholes who gave Vancouver it's bad name for the game 7 riot back in 2011, just a few more of them back then.....

Happens far too often at games and we never hear about it. This isn't exclusive to Montreal.

I used to take the Skytrain home as football or hockey games emptied. What a difference. The football fans were a jovial lot, they had kids with them, and mostly seemed to be going to the burbs. The hockey fans were a bunch of obnoxious drunks going more to Vancouver and Burnaby. I would always hope the Canucks lost in 4 straight to get it over with.

We had a Grey Cup riot in 66, but nothing since. Fans of the two games seem to have stratified, or maybe it's even the same people but the atmosphere of the games is so different it causes them to behave differently. No fights by football players, while fights in hockey seem to be the highlight of the game.

The only reason this got attention is because it involves an attractive young woman. Actual fist fights between male fans, meh, just part of the good old hockey game.

Oh bullshit. The media attention some goofs at the Toronto/Ottawa game in Ottawa received earlier this year belie your attempt to trivialize what happened to these young women.

How long ago was that? In the last 10 years I've ridden the Skytrain back to my brother inlaw's place a few times after Rider night games and more often than not ended up in a confrontation with drunken Lions fans because I was sporting Green and White.

Day games might be okay but don't go to a Lions game on a Friday or Saturday night and expect to survive the Skytrain ride back to the burbs without some trouble especially if you're from an opposing team because, the environment definitely isn't family friendly.

Alot of people by nature are born assholes so, it isn't just Canucks fans who can be a bunch of douches because, the Lions fans can be just as bad and for the record this doesn't just happen in Vancouver it happens in every city with a professional sports team whether people want to admit it or not.

Just don't get me started about the uberfans actions in the stands. You know the ones who think they can show their ultimate support for their team by insulting, assaulting and ultimately fighting with anybody cheering for another team.

I'd rather use an a ASP Baton if I'm gonna be charged with assault. Besides with a baton the assholes can't wash the effects out with a little tap water and releasing a blast of pepper spray in a crowded train car might not be the best idea.

Judging by your avatar you must be much older than me, because I only dimly remembered even the 66 riot.
