Bettman is a complete idiot for how he runs this league. He's an embarrassment.
That good sir is an understatment.
Mr Bettman is more concerned with his image as the man who "brought Hockey" to markets that have neither the inclination nor interest to support these teams, rather than with the reality that his expansion policies for the most part have been dismal failures and have hurt the game irreparably.
The sad part is that the owners of these financially struggling teams would rather believe his hype about the big payday being just around the corner, rather than their own bottom line.
I find it completely irrational that he'd allow a team to be sold to someone under investigation for fraud rather than see the team moved to a city that could and would support it. But I guess because it's a Canadian city involved it doesn't count. Expansion under Mr. Bettman's reign only includes American expansion.
Now that the leagues American poster boy has pissed in the pickles I wait with bated breath to see how Gary is gonna spin it to avoid making the league look like something from Slapshot. I suppose he could always point out the myriad of American players in the NFL and NBA that have been charged for various felonies and say that Patrick is just one of the boy's and everyone knows how boy's will be boy's.
