The really concerning part for Americans should be the fact that he owes $421m in loans. Loans that come due within four years. That makes him a national security risk. Well....more of one.

But, any person could do this. He isn't breaking any laws. Any citizen has these loopholes open to them.

Especially when it's well known that he isn't able to borrow from American banks. He had to go outside of the country to do it.

Also, one wonders just how many shoes the NYT will drop after this. There’s five weeks till the election and damn near every day another story like this comes out.

1. The president has paid virtually $0 in federal taxes in the past two decades
2. Trump received a $72.9-million refund from the IRS
3. The report indicates Trump leveraged his business losses to avoid paying taxes
4. Many personal expenses were written off as the cost of business, including $70,000 for hair styling
5. Trump received money from lobbyists, politicians and foreign officials

https://nationalpost.com/news/world/fiv ... ax-returns

Like I said many times here, this is why he wouldn't release his taxes voluntarily. He paid less tax than the kid who filled his KFC bucket.
This should be the final nail in his coffin.

Hence the reason for my initial [popcorn]

I knew the reason he fought so hard to keep them private, when he is the first modern President to not make the public voluntarily, would be embarrassment. The supposed Billionaire, the supposed smart, stable genius, does not want his obvious failures in business to be known.

It should be, but it won’t

The not paying taxes isn’t even the biggest part. All of his business are failures and he’s massively in debt are the big takeaways. He’s a cheater and a conman and this is finally the proof of it. And on top of that a crook too. A lot of this is tax law BS for the wealthy but a lot of it is pure fraud.

And it explains so much of why Trump acts the way he acts. It’s why he doesn’t have his own mansion somewhere: he lives on his properties and uses the expenses as a tax write off.

It’s why he pushed so hard for lockdowns to end: all his company’s earnings come via hospitality and entertainment.

It’s why he’s fighting so hard to stay president: to legally insulate himself from the legal meteor that’s coming for him after he leaves the office.

He seems to have done well from The Apprentice, i.e. playing an entrepreneur on TV. Nearly every other venture has been a yooge disaster for anyone foolish enough to supply him with money or building materials. The mystery is why ordinary people of modest means who pay their taxes admire such utter scumbaggery, apart from those supporters who are some combination of certifiably insane, religiously fanatical, sociopathic or screaming Proud Boy.
